My Own Worst Enemy

I am on the road to success. The road is clean and clear as it is ready for me to travel its ways. I am traveling this road alone, I want to be successful on my own and know I can do it by myself. The end of my road is fulled with many challenges and things for me to do. I first off want to go to college to become a nurse practitioner then find a job in this field. I want to work in a small town somewhere, I haven't decided where yet. I want a family after college when I know what my life plans are at that point because everything is opt to change. I am going to try and make the best out of my life, always make the best of everything and have the "roadblocks" make me stronger. I don't see me having any significant roadblocks, just minor ones. The only thing that could stand in my way would be my career and getting there. I am going to try my best to get myself there in this vision that I want and choose. This is how I want my future to look and as long as I keep wanting it nothing can stop me.

Thought for the Day

 Everyone has emotions, not always are they going to be good. Peoples emotions get hurt and damaged just like physical wounds. Forgiveness is a part of emotions, you have a choice whether to forgive someone or not is up to you. This affects your emotions, but no matter what you should always have positive emotions. You need to not so much forgive but forget what happened in the past. If you dwell on the past it will affect your future.

Life Law 6

Perception is a huge thing in life, it changes a persons opinion of people and such. A certain perception of something can change your thought about it forever. If its a bad one there's going to be a bad opinion. Some perceptions are ignorant and some aren't. This can have a huge influence on life, whether it's bad or good is up to you.

Thought for the Day

Everyone needs encouragement in life, sometimes people just need a little extra push. Everyone has goals or dreams they want to accomplish and if you just go for it and let nothing get in your way you can achieve it. If you don't go for different things in life you wont know what you could of had or what your life would be like then. You could be living that life now so all you need to do is try.

Poem

In Midnight Sleep
IN midnight sleep, of many a face of anguish,
Of the look at first of the mortally wounded—of that indescribable look;
Of the dead on their backs, with arms extended wide,
I dream, I dream, I dream.

I thought this poem was eye catching. I think he is a very descriptive writer, and he uses his imagination. Everyone sees things in a different way and this is how he sees sleep. I would have never thought to view/think of it this way until now. I like his view of things and the way he writes.

Walt Whitman

Walt Whitman is a poet/journalist/essayist/humanist that wrote free verse poetry.
He was a realist, his poem “Leaves of Grass” displays this wonderfully. He was very into his view of things. Most people thought that poem was very controversial and obscene. He told the truth about things and most of the time people hate to hear the truth.

My Favorite Walt Whitman Poem

O CAPTAIN! MY CAPTAIN! Walt Whitman (1819-1892)
O Captain! my Captain! our fearful trip is done,
The ship has weathered every rack, the prize we sought is won,
The port is near, the bells I hear, the people all exulting,
While follow eyes the steady keel, the vessel grim and daring;
   But O heart! heart! heart!
      O the bleeding drops of red,
         Where on the deck my Captain lies,
            Fallen cold and dead.
O Captain! my Captain! rise up and hear the bells;
Rise up--for you the flag is flung--for you the bugle trills,
For you bouquets and ribboned wreaths--for you the shores
     a-crowding,
For you they call, the swaying mass, their eager faces turning;
   Here Captain! dear father!
      This arm beneath your head!
         It is some dream that on the deck
            You've fallen cold and dead.

My captain does not answer, his lips are pale and still,
My father does not feel my arm, he has no pulse nor will,
The ship is anchored safe and sound, its voyage closed and done,
From fearful trip the victor ship comes in with object won;
   Exult, O shores, and ring O bells!
      But I, with mournful tread,
         Walk the deck my Captain lies,
            Fallen cold and dead.
