My Sisters Keeper

If I were Judge DeSalvo I would have had a though time with this case. I would have had a hard time trying to figure out which way I should rule the case. But I believe in the end I would have ruled the same direction the book took it. That Anna would be medically emancipated from her parents. I would have made that decision because she has the say over what she does and does not give Kate. She could still donate everything to Kate but it would be her decision and not her parents. I do understand that Sara is just in this to protect her sick daughter, I don't think she is a terrible person for going against Anna and not just let her do what she wants. She didn't know the whole story until the end of the trial. Anna and Campbell have so much in common, they are the same type of people. They are both very independent and neither of them have complete control over their body. They developed a close relationship throughout the book. Campbell just wanted what was best for her. It was like he was fighting for the rights to his body through Anna. He knew what she was going through and how it felt, I believe that is why this case was so important to him.

Designer Babies

There are many different opinions people have when it comes to these "designer babies". I believe that if you could save another child's life by having another child which is "designed" so that it could help the child then it should be allowed. Yes it is un-natural, but it's saving lives. If i was a child created to help my sibling I honestly wouldn't care. I believe I would feel good about myself, saving someone I love. Some people say that it isn't right but what if the parents really wanted another kid? Who's to know the truth.

Holocaust Denial and Distortion

The Holocaust was completely real, how could it not be? Where did all of those camps come from then? How are they still standing today if they weren't real? That is rude and disrespectful to say that the Holocaust never happened. All those dead bodies and all of those pictures that were taken during the Holocaust are real. Nobody could have made those up even if they wanted to. These people were tortured and there are pictures and evidence to prove it. Even survivors still live today telling their story about what was done to them. Telling their story of how them and their family was tortured, most of them not having any family left. These people don't tell their story for sympathy they tell the story for the respect of the people that died; people that were killed. All of this proof that the Holocaust did indeed take place and you still say it wasn't real? There are too many facts to prove you wrong. Nobody wants your sympathy, they just want to be heard. They just wanted people to know the horrific things that happened to them.

Holocaust

In all reality, no matter what world we live in there will always be discrimination. The Holocaust is a huge example of the discrimination that took place. Rights of these people were bent so they could be "exterminated". There are many different types of people out in this world today, so what made the Jews so terrible compared to everyone else? Why wasn't it another group of people? Everyone just needs to have acceptance in their life and accept people the way they are and don't discriminate. There could be a chance that something like this could happen again, who knows! There is and will always be a possibility. These actions could be blamed on a number of reasons.

Chapter 10

At some time I learned that my mom is very good with the whole English subject. I know this doesn't sound that interesting but this was really surprising to me. I didn't think she was dumb but I didn't think she was that smart. She is really good with vocabulary, writing papers, and such. I was having my mom help me with some homework before which it seemed as if it just came natural to her, she helped me with no effort. I had already looked up to my mom a lot but this made me look up to her even more. I guess I had just never realized how smart she really was.

To Kill a Mockingbird

If I could transfer the story of Scout to my neighborhood it would be a much more exciting place. There would be a lot more adventure and such, I would love it if I lived in a neighborhood like that. I don't know if I would change anything, I like all of the adventures they have and the excitement/amusement they get over the littlest things. I would keep the character Boo Radley the same and the Finch family. The Radley home really intrigues the kids which I like. I do believe I would be friends with Scout if she lived in my neighborhood, but Dill and Jem on the other hand I don't know if I could be friends with. They seem like they are both trouble makers, which I wouldn't care for. I would make great memories with these characters, we would have so many adventures.

Mary Oliver Quote

The quote "Instructions for living a life. Pay attention. Be astonished. Tell about it." is a very basic outlook on life. I don't believe that there is any deeper meaning to this quote, I believe it means exactly what it says. She's saying pay attention, you never know when you will learn something, if you aren't showing any type of excitement life would be very boring, then if you don't tell about it nobody would learn anything or they may not have any excitement in their life.
